Sunny, Monday. March 18, Year 3008. Lamberton, the Empire. Galaxy GDX Establishment No. 987685.
River Banks with giant sunflowers in full boom, wavering in the bare sunshine. Approaching sunset.
Mist: floats in-between the 60 feet high forest of giant sunflowers, surprised, raising upward to observe the whole prairies.
In Mist's scope is only the golden flashes of petals of golden yellow and circled florets of dark brown. No other plants were found in the wildness. The River is quiet, reflecting the unbearable bright light from a supersun that seems never down. Barren, alive are only the sunflowers when a little breeze passes by.
A follows in the scene covered completed in transparent security suit.
A: Sunflowers are the only live plants now. It absorbs the radiation and turns it to energy. It became our main source of nearly everything.
Mist: turns back, forms an arm to hold A's breathing pipe and tries to lead the way
A: Yeah, I will come.
Mist: leads the way to the far edge of the River Bank. Pointing at the crystallized water with its "tail".
A (explains what Mist is pondering over): No. No water exposed to the sun is for drink. No fish, no birds, no everything in the open air.
Mist: looks upset, lowered its "head"
A: We still have animals in the culture centre and for genome banks.
Mist: looks back, not very happy
A (reads the message): Eh...you guessed it right. They are raised only for nutrition purposes. After the sun storm, all animals are distinguished. The Great War prevented any possible rescue mission for animals. It is really lucky the genome banks is intact so the regeneration starts very soon after the mass destruction.
A walks to Mist. In the far East where all sunflowers face toward, an iron-grey Tower stands in the gorgeous carpet of golden heads, rising into the sky. Several satellite towers were linked to it. Sunfall seems closer.
Mist: circles A, gives a sign pointing at the huge architecture.
A: That is the Ambrosia, the place for all animals and Sunflowers.
Mist: looks at the huge group of production line
A: You were from there, Ted.
A short silence. A melancholy mood changes the colour of Mist to light violet.
A (slowly): How is it, Ted, when you die...
Mist: quiet for a while, circles A's shoulder twice, and leads the way back to the silver capsule.
A: ...(follows)
A voices cruise order and the capsule leaves a white trace in the blue and golden background.
At the same time, in the Lab
Cloak 1: The first exposure to the Sun...
Cloak 2: It seems the temperature is alright. (pointer at Mist on the screen) Its colour is one of the most beautiful.
Cloak 1: Live extraction serves better.
Cloak 3: As long as its data is dormant.
Cloak 2: You mean "memory".
Cloak 3: Yes, remember how it reaches the highest temperature when the woman said "Sunflower Object". Maybe its not worth keeping her alive.
Cloak 1: We till need her to keep ZO37685-LA linked to our system before the sample is totally transformed to a Sunflower.
Cloak 2: She may be disposed any time. The reaction between the two by far is within control.
Cloak 3: Fine. I will go check the reactor.
To be continued.
